Anthony (Tony) Shepherd, President BATT Capital Advisors, LLC
Tony is the President of BATT Capital Advisors, LLC and has developed over 19 years of broad experience in financial operations, financial consulting, investment banking, accounting and private equity. Tony most recently served as the CFO of ExtruMed, Inc., a private equity backed, market leading provider of precision thermoplastic tubing solutions to the medical device industry. He was selected by the former private equity owners to lead the internal coordination of the sale of the company and, post-sale, he led the projects to centralize the finance and accounting functions from California to the buyer’s existing headquarters in Wisconsin, migrate systems to their treasury, accounting and reporting platform and project managed a $2.2 million plant consolidation on time and at budget that doubled the footprint of existing operations in California. Prior to ExtruMed, he was the start-up CFO focused on the acquisition, financing and financial management of two broadcasting portfolio companies controlled by Frontier Capital Partners in Los Angeles.
Prior to founding BATT Capital in 2007, Mr. Shepherd served as Senior Vice President, CFO and Chief Administrative Officer of Trinity Capital, a boutique investment bank in Los Angeles, where he specialized in representing entrepreneurs, companies and private equity firms primarily in sell-side mergers and acquisitions, and debt and equity financings. Prior to joining Trinity, Mr. Shepherd was a Managing Director for FTI Consulting, Inc., where he served in the Corporate Finance Group, specializing in business recovery services. Previously, he worked as an associate for Barrington Associates, Investment Bankers in Los Angeles. Mr. Shepherd began his career as a staff auditor at Price Waterhouse LLP and then managing consultant in the Corporate Recovery Group of Price Waterhouse LLP.
Tony is graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles and holds an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Management. He is a CPA in the State of California (inactive status) and, when at Trinity Capital, was a NASD-registered Principal, holding Series 7, 24, 28 and 63.
